Ex-Chief of General Staff to the regime of General Abdulsalami Abubakar, Vice Admiral Mike Akhigbe will be buried on November 23, 2013, Saturday.

Date Set for Vice Admiral Akhigbe’s Burial

The burial will take place in his home town, Fugar, Etsako Central Local Government Area of Edo state.

Chief Joseph Akhigbe-Alemoh, the Head of the family and elder brother to the deceased, confirmed it to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Fugar on November 10, 2013, Sunday.

Mike Akhigbe’s corpse would be delivered to Fugar on November 22, 2013, Friday.

The Christian wake keep would be held on on the same day, while the funeral Mass at the St. Theresa Catholic Church would be held the next day.

Mike Akhigbe died in New York on 28 October, at the age of 67.

He was chief of staff between June 1998 and May 1999, and also served as governor of Lagos and Ondo states during the military era.
